REAL ESTATE FINANCE AND DEVELOPMENT: DESCRIPTION

From its inception, McKenna Long & Aldridge has enjoyed a vigorous and dynamic commercial real estate practice. Beginning with a principal focus on the representation of developers and entrepreneurs, the depth and breadth of our engagements have diversified over time to include the representation of numerous institutional lenders and investors.

Our commercial real estate team has multi-disciplinary experience that spans the spectrum of real estate development, investment and finance. With approximately 60 lawyers in Atlanta, Los Angeles, Washington, D.C., New York, Albany and San Francisco, we routinely handle a diverse range of real estate transactions from lender representations in large, complex loan closings to intricate, mixed-use development engagements throughout the country.

MLA lawyers are widely recognized as possessing a practical, business-oriented approach to the handling of client matters. We are acutely aware that doing business today requires a critical evaluation of potential risks, responsibilities and rewards. Our role on the client's team is to provide common sense solutions to the increasingly complex problems that arise in commercial real estate transactions.

We do not believe that a lawyer's objective is or should be the endless pursuit of a risk free structure that is insensitive to overriding business objectives. Rather than burdening a deal with inappropriate demands that unfairly skew the risk/reward profile, resulting in unnecessary cost, complexity and delay, we work closely with our clients to employ pragmatic solutions that accomplish client objectives while mitigating unreasonable levels of exposure.
