The first Government Contracts law practice in the nation originated in the firm’s Washington office. Under the leadership of legendary partner Gil Cuneo, the discipline of government contracts law emerged as a major area in the legal field. Today, our government contracts practice remains the largest and most comprehensive practice of its kind in the country and serves clients in virtually every area of government contracting, including information technology, aerospace and defense systems, homeland security and biodefense, and GSA contracting.
A core strength of our firm and the Washington office is our Litigation practice, featuring more than 50 practitioners in the nation’s capital alone. The Washington-based litigation team maintains key practice concentrations in the areas of regulatory and appellate law, product liability and toxic torts, white collar criminal defense, and general commercial and employment law. Our white collar practice was recently bolstered with the additions of two new partners: Josh Hochberg, former Chief of the Fraud Section at the Department of Justice and John Horan, former Assistant U.S. Attorney for the District of Columbia.
In our firm’s continuing mission to help clients navigate the intersection between industry and government, the Washington office has continued to grow its Public Policy and Regulatory Affairs practice with practitioners and attorneys with noteworthy experience in the halls of government. Our Washington office’s Intellectual Property and Technology practice features a rapidly growing team of more than 30 practitioners.
